Hi, I’m Michael. Growing up in Newcastle has given me a real passion for this amazing city and for creating comfortable, clean and welcoming places for people to stay.

I’ve been involved in the property industry for several years, starting out in home renovations before becoming an electrician and working alongside my father in both domestic and commercial maintenance. This experience gave me a strong understanding of what makes a property feel like a proper home, from the practical details to the finishing touches.

I eventually decided to take everything I had learned and start my own accommodation business, providing guests with comfortable homes away from home across Newcastle.

Whether you’re visiting for work, relocating to the area, spending time with family or simply exploring the city, my aim is simple, to provide a place where you can feel comfortable, relaxed and at home throughout your stay.

How we started

I started This Place O’Yours while taking a career break in Perth, Australia. Having been lucky enough to travel around the world through my work, I’ve experienced accommodation of all kinds and understand what can make a stay truly enjoyable and what can make you feel right at home.


With a background in household maintenance and years of experience working alongside my father in his property business, I’ve always had a strong passion for property and creating comfortable spaces for people.



I decided to bring these experiences together and start This Place O’Yours, with the aim of providing guests from all over the world with comfortable, clean and welcoming homes where they can relax, feel at home and enjoy their stay.
